Bearing pad or Bridge Bearing in a wider language is the foundation or bearing of a bridge section which is used to transfer stress from the upper structure to the lower structure which can provide movement to the upper part of the bridge structure. Bearings also function to accommodate Translational and Rotational movements.
The bearing pad is made of a fairly hard material, which has a hardness of 555 duro. For bearing pads with a thickness of > 1”, use lamination between the steel plate and rubber. Required aging test of rubber material according to ASTM 573, where elongation to break is 50%, change in tensile strength is max 15%, hardness is max 10 HS. The polymer material in the rubber mixture must not exceed 60% of the total volume of the elastomer.
Therefore this product is a special material for Rubber Bearings in bridge construction developed by contractors in Jabodetabek and Indonesia
